When we are working from home and attending lots of virtual events, connections and the ways we communicate matter. Our Compass365 team was thrilled to support the Microsoft community by being a sponsor and interacting with the attendees in session chats for the Microsoft 365 Collaboration Conference Virtual Event. The Microsoft 365 Collaboration Conference, formerly the SharePoint Conference, teamed up with the Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and Power Platform communities for an exciting, 3-day, VIRTUAL event that was presented December 9-11, 2020.
A special shout out to community members Shirley Brothers, Jackie Baillie, Lyman Goodrich, Joel Oleson, Galen Keene, Ryan Schouten and the #M365VConf team for putting together this event, mapping out the agenda and for supporting and promoting the knowledge and expertise that reaffirms this: Microsoft 365 has the best tech community in the world. We love being part of this community and are looking forward to our next virtual event.
Microsoft 365 Collaboration Conference Virtual Event Key Takeaways
SharePoint reached 200 million monthly active users; a big milestone announced in both a blog post by Microsoft 365 CVP, Jared Spataro and called out in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Stream CVP, Jeff Teper’s keynote.
The significance of this number along with SharePoint continuing to lead in Gartner’s Content Services Platform’s Magic Quadrant shows there is no slowing down the popularity and innovation continuing to happen around this almost 20-year-old platform. At Compass365 our SharePoint experts help companies get the most out of their SharePoint and Microsoft 365 investments through our Enablement Program designed to explore your content management and collaboration needs, configure Microsoft Teams and existing or new SharePoint sites for effective usage, and enable your users with training and support.
Alongside the numerous other Microsoft Teams feature releases of 2020, Jeff Teper also noted that in January 2021, Microsoft Teams will grow to accommodate up to 25,000 members per individual team, up from 10,000 members.
At Compass365 we are excited to see Microsoft continuing to expand Microsoft Teams availability to enterprises that have large numbers of employees, suppliers, partners and customers who need an all-in-one collaboration and communication solution to connect lines of business and stay productive. We are assisting clients who are just rolling out Microsoft Teams or who launched during the past six months and need some governance and guidance.
We were happy to sponsor a session titled, Customizing Productivity Apps with Lists and Libraries, Power Apps, and Power Automate by Chakkaradeep Chandran
The growth of low and no-code apps within SharePoint has been exponential. The session was a demo-rich deep dive session into utilizing Microsoft Lists along with Power Apps and Power Automate to connect data and keep business on track. As the Power Platform grows and brings together the entire Microsoft ecosystem with new integrations and capabilities the possibilities are endless.
As part of our Business Applications Services, our experienced Compass365 Power Apps developers have the expertise and creativity to help bring your business process automation visions to life. Whether you need to deploy simple data collection forms, complex integrated approval use cases, convert legacy InfoPath forms and SharePoint Designer workflows, or get advice on how to govern Power Apps and Power Automate solutions across your enterprise, our consultants will get you up and running faster than going it alone.
We are excited to work with clients to bring together collaboration tools with the low-code solutions available through the Power Platform.
The Microsoft community really came together in 2020 to help businesses and individuals adapt to our new way of working by providing in-depth and often times free learning events. We are proud to be a part of and support our community by sponsoring events like the Microsoft 365 Collaboration Conference Virtual Event.
