Quickly and efficiently migrate to SharePoint Online

Sometimes, a “lift and shift” migration to SharePoint Online makes sense. Migrating with the least disruption to your business and users is at the core of our SharePoint migration approach.  We’ll help you deliver a foundational solution you can continue building on.

Our Foundational SharePoint Migration is right for you if:

Lift and Shift Migration

  • Content is at the low to moderate level.
  • The current environment has a simple site structure.
  • Few to no customizations exist or are required.

Timeline and Resources

  • A technical emergency requires a quick transition.
  • Budget constraints are a deciding factor.
  • Business involvement needs to be kept to a minimum.

Legacy Systems

  • Retirement of on-prem systems is required.
  • A low impact on business users is desired.
  • Maintain classic SharePoint experience.

Customer Success

“With any technology migration and updated processes, user adoption and engagement are priority number one, and Compass365 ensured our success.”

Ryan Nagahori, Program Manager, Sakata Seed America

“I liked Compass365’s approach. They were great about explaining the steps. They walked me through and made sure my team and I knew we could manage our new environments.”

Raye McGlawn, Manager Information Systems, Algood Food Company

“Compass365 provided the depth of knowledge we were lacking. They did a bunch of training for us and answered every single question. Our employees like to feel like you’re here sitting with them at their desk and Compass365 delivered on that.”

PMO, Farmers & Merchants Bank

Our proven process for success

As a Microsoft Gold Partner authorized for SharePoint planning and deployment, our process will help you deliver success, maximize adoption, and minimize the impact to your user community. Our team will guide you throughout the entire process, ensuring a smooth migration.

We inventory your current environment and guide your decision making with best practice recommendations. To account for any and all complexities, we’ll review the structure of your content, #’s of sites and site collections, lists, file size, workflows, custom solutions, branding, URL length, and any other items that may require special handling during the migration. Working collaboratively, we’ll decide on the structure of the new site, what and how items should be moved and what should be left behind. From here, we will create and document your migration strategy and accurately scope the effort, cost, and timeline. No surprises to derail your efforts.

Working from a Migration Runbook, our 2-step migration process ensures minimal downtime for your user community. First, the new site(s) are created and configured in SharePoint and Teams. We’ll then migrate content, analyze, test, and modernize any legacy solutions identified as critical to moving forward – all while your employees are still working as usual. Once everything is tested and approved, we’ll do a short delta migration, cut over to the new system, and support you for the first few weeks after go-live.
The user experience of working in SharePoint Online or SharePoint 2019/Subscription Server can be very different for those used to legacy versions of SharePoint, including SharePoint 2013 and 2016. At Compass365, we establish a group of business and IT stakeholders for the project – super users, content creators, and department liaisons – who are involved in the project from start to finish and are being trained along the way. We create Quick Guides based on role and have a variety of training options ranging from train-the-trainer to train the organization, ensuring your users are ready to use the system on day one.

Getting into the cloud or the latest version of SharePoint is just the beginning of your modernization journey.  Our clients continue to engage with us to take full advantage of the new tools and capabilities they have available to them to improve efficiency and engage and empower their employees. Common requests include enabling workplace collaboration, building workflows and forms in Power Platform, document and records management in SharePoint, engaging Intranet portals and increasing adoption of Teams and SharePoint, enabling reporting with Power BI, and many more.
