The end of InfoPath is coming, and it is closer than you think. On July 14, 2026, one year from the time of this publication, InfoPath 2013 and InfoPath Forms Services will be officially retired. If your organization still relies on either technology, it’s time to act.

Retirement of InfoPath 2013 and InfoPath Forms Services

This is the final nail in the coffin for InfoPath. On this date:

  • InfoPath Forms Services will be removed from Microsoft 365 SharePoint
  • InfoPath 2013 client will reach the end of extended support
  • Existing InfoPath forms in SharePoint Online will stop functioning

Your options:

1. Do Nothing

If you’re on SharePoint Server, existing InfoPath forms may continue to work but they will be unsupported. If something breaks, you’ll face business disruptions and no safety net.

On Microsoft 365, InfoPath forms services will be removed altogether. While users may still download form files and view data, no new form submissions will be possible.

2. Migrate to Modern Solutions

Microsoft’s Power Platform offers powerful, flexible, and sustainable alternatives:

  • Power Apps – Create low-code business applications to replace InfoPath forms
  • Power Automate – Automate workflows previously managed by InfoPath
  • Microsoft Forms – Quickly gather and analyze information for lightweight use cases
