We were thrilled to attend the Microsoft 365 Conference in Las Vegas earlier this month. The conference was worth the investment to learn about the latest features in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem as well as connect with the amazing community. From the paradigm shift brought on by AI to the biggest SharePoint evolution in its 22-year history, here are some of the announcements that have us excited.
AI and Copilot
AI was the star of the show and they set the stage for Microsoft 365 Copilot as a game changer. Officially announced earlier this year, M365 Copilot is generative AI inside the apps and services you use every day. Microsoft made release and capability announcements about Copilot in SharePoint, Viva Engage, Viva Insights, and Viva Glints.
SharePoint
If Copilot for SharePoint wasn’t enough, they also announced a refresh of the user experience including a new start page experience, a fully customizable Brand Center, and advanced image editing, video integration, and page design capabilities. Deeper integrations with Teams, Outlook, and Viva will also promote collaboration and engagement.
Teams
The long-awaited new Teams app is almost complete and is now in preview. Promising a 2x speed increase and using 50% less memory plus the ability to log into multiple accounts simultaneously, the new Teams will offer a seamless experience.
Microsoft Syntex
Re-launched at last year’s Ignite, Microsoft Syntex is an AI-powered content understanding, processing, and compliance service. Microsoft announced that translations, optical character recognition, image processing, and content assembly capabilities are coming later this year. They also announced the new pay-as-you-go service model to broaden the accessibility of Syntex.
Power Platform
Microsoft introduced various enhancements to the Power Platform, one of which is AI Builder. This feature empowers organizations to develop intelligent applications with AI. Additionally, Microsoft made announcements about enhancements to Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate, streamlining the process of creating and implementing custom solutions for improved data visualization, and workflows, and expedite the development of applications, increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
As always, the Compass365 team is here to assist you in improving the way your organization operates and your employees work with SharePoint and the Microsoft 365 platform.
