This week, Google announced that employees may work from home until at least next summer – June of 2021. This announcement demonstrates that Google, long known for its fun, flexible and highly collaborative office culture, is bracing for a long pandemic. In a statement from Google CEO Sundar Pichai, “To give employees the ability to plan ahead, we’ll be extending our global voluntary work from home option through June 30th, 2021 for roles that don’t need to be in the office.” As much as we’d all like to see COVID-19 end quickly, it’s likely to be some time before we are fully able to put the pandemic and its effects behind us.

Business continuity is top of mind for many organizations as we navigate this new normal. According to EY’s COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan: Five Ways to Reshape, companies need to be predictive and proactive in their decision making to preserve business continuity and build enterprise resilience. At the core of the strategy is to put people and safety first with flexible work arrangements, infection protections for site workers and regular, transparent communications that reassure employees and align with government policies. Following that is communication with stakeholders, reshaping strategy and building resilience/preparation for recovery, but employees come first. Our partners at Nintex, a leading business process automation and optimization platform, are helping organizations quickly respond to these new challenges with free downloadable templates for business continuity, remote work, health and safety.

Some of the COVID-19 related templates include:

  • Business Continuity Planning
  • Adhere to COVID-19 Employee Guidelines
  • Work from Home Agreement
  • Notify Visitors for Health and Safety Awareness
  • Office/Facility Sign-in with Health and Safety Awareness

Once the safety related aspects of business continuity are addressed, we must turn our attention to adapting our processes to survive, thrive, build resilience, and prepare for the future. Digital transformation in hyper mode. Our outdated, manual and often cumbersome processes can no longer hide in the shadows, but instead are glaringly apparent. For our customers using the Nintex platform, however, we are able to quickly and easily build out forms and workflow solutions to streamline any process from Employee and Vendor Onboarding, Performance Reviews, Invoice Processing and Project Management. The Nintex process suite includes process mapping, forms, workflows, botflows and connectors to many commonly used Line of Business Solutions.
